(KNSI) – The Initiative Foundation is announcing the organizations selected for the Good Neighbor Grant program to help provide essentials like food and shelter this holiday season.
Twenty nonprofits across 14 counties are sharing $100,000 thanks to support from the McKnight Foundation. The Initiative Foundation was the regional administrator of the grants for central Minnesota.
Vice President for Community Amy Trombley says, “By working with the McKnight Foundation, we can quickly channel resources to address urgent challenges-whether it’s food insecurity, heating assistance or other essentials-so families and communities feel supported. It’s about neighbors helping neighbors, and we’re honored to play a role in that.”
Stearns County organizations selected include Arrive Ministries, CAIRO, and Higher Ground Church. Phases Family Support operates in Benton and Stearns County. Fe y Justicia works out of Stearns and Sherburne Counties. Other Sherburne County nonprofits picked by the Initiative Foundation were Main Street Family Services, Open Doors for Youth, and The Wave Youth Center.
