(KNSI) – There will be two opportunities to frolic and play, maybe even the Eskimo way, on Sunday with the St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra.

Both performances share similar inspiration for their playlists, with the 1:00 p.m. show tweaked for kids. The Children’s Holiday Concert at Ritsche Auditorium on the campus of SCSU kicks things off. Two hours later, the venue will host the Festival of Frolic and Reflection.

The orchestra will be led by conductor Kornel Thomas, who will have the crowd hooked with a simple gesture of the baton, igniting the brassy bravado dreamed up by composer Georges Bizet. It will be worked in between various Christmas carols and the seasonal samplings of Leroy Anderson. For the adult show, Sleigh Ride is substituted for Handel’s Messiah, along with some other modifications to the set list.

The children’s concert is free for anyone under 17. Adults get in for $20. A link to buy tickets is here.

It will cost a touch more for the festival performance, with tickets at $30 for adults and dropping to five bucks for students.
