(KNSI) – A multivehicle crash earlier this week led to one car crashing into the Stearns County Administration Building, but luckily, both drivers walked away.
According to a St. Cloud Police Department Incident Report, around 3:30 on Monday afternoon, Abdullahi Hassan was heading south on 7th Avenue North. He had a green light as he drove through the intersection with 2nd Street North when he was t-boned by another car.
The 35-year-old’s Ford Fusion careened into the northeast corner of the administration building and sustained serious damage. The car had to be towed. The building, whose base is made of granite, didn’t appear to be damaged.
The 79-year-old behind the wheel of the second car, Terry Matson, stated he was heading west on 2nd Street and didn’t know exactly what happened until he saw he was going through a red light. Despite the damage, he was able to drive away. The Matson was given a ticket for running a red light.
Both men refused medical attention at the scene.
