(KNSI) – Another Cold Spring City Council session has come and gone without a resolution to the police station and government center remodeling.

Administrator Kris Dockendorf says there was some progress at the Wednesday, November 26th, session, though. “They approved to move forward with design development of just the building without any garage, and they tabled the decision on the garage to the next meeting.”

At the early November meeting, the council could not come to a consensus on whether there should be no police garage included in the $4 million-plus project or a six-stall version with accompanying parking spaces. The council asked for a quote for a two-stall garage, but the issue is still not settled.

Dockendorf explains why. “The reason they tabled it this time was because they only had four council members there, and they thought it was [an] important enough issue to table it to the next meeting when all five would be there.”

In addition to the city hall project, the council approved redoing the first base bleachers at Springer Park. The city will pay half of the roughly $73,000 tab, with the local baseball association responsible for the rest. The new bleachers will reduce maintenance and spiff up the facility before the state amateur tournament comes to town in 2027.
