(KNSI) – Old Man Winter has arrived in Minnesota for Thanksgiving, bringing havoc to the highways.
The Minnesota State Patrol Public Information Officer says that since the flakes started flying around noon on Tuesday through 8:00 Wednesday morning, first responders were called to 333 property-damage crashes, including 31 injury crashes, and 422 vehicles in the ditch. Troopers reported 18 spinouts.
There were 41 jackknifed semis, including multiple trucks, on Interstate 94 near Moorhead. This led to the road being closed for a while.
The state patrol asks anyone out and about today to slow down and keep a safe distance between vehicles.
If people have to venture from home, make sure to check the current road conditions at 511mn.org.
