SCTCC Named a 2025 Best for Vets College by Military Times

(KNSI) – St. Cloud Technical & Community College has been named a Best for Vets College 2025 by Military Times.

The recognition places SCTCC among 357 higher education institutions nationwide that demonstrated exceptional commitment to serving military veterans and their families.

According to the report, SCTCC offers a range of resources specifically designed for veterans transitioning to civilian life. The college provides financial support through emergency funds and scholarships through its foundation, with a streamlined single-application process that allows students to apply for all scholarships at once. Workforce development scholarships are also available.

Military Times determines the rankings through a comprehensive evaluation process which includes a national survey and retrieves public data from the Department of Education and Department of Veterans Affairs. Rankings are based on student success, military-specific resources, and financial assistance offered.

In addition to its regular presence on the Best for Vets list, SCTCC holds Yellow Ribbon Company status, demonstrating that key areas within the institution actively support service members and military families through a proactive network.

Six Minnesota colleges earned the Best for Vets designation in 2025. The University of St. Thomas ranked 39th nationally, followed by Inver Hills Community College at 241st, North Hennepin Community College at 250th, Dakota County Technical College at 258th, Alexandria Technical College at 290th, and SCTCC at 312th.
