(KNSI) – Lights! Camera! Wagging! Santa Paws is back again this week at the Tri-County Humane Society.
For a fee, families can get Christmas photos taken with their pets at the thrift store attached to the shelter on St. Cloud’s east end. The glamour shots run from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Development Manager Brianna Reinke can’t wait for people to see the holiday-themed stage. “We have volunteers who come and just create a set. So, this year, they were using supplies, wood, nails, building a set, and it’s gingerbread-themed. So, they put their heart and soul into this, creating a magical moment for families to come in with their animals and get their photos taken.”
A five-minute photo session costs $55. The results are sure to be a sugary feast for the eyes. Appointments can be booked online here, but walk-ins are okay, too.
Next week is looking like an extra-sized treat for the shelter with its Give to the Max Day campaign. The goal has been bumped up to $60,000 this year, supported by $16,500 in guarantees that have already been committed.
Reinke says the money serves an important purpose in dealing with emergency situations. “[On] Monday, we had an unforeseen case where we took in 23 cats from a house. Give To The Max Day helps fund these efforts that we can’t necessarily plan for, but that we can respond to the community in need when it happens.
Give To The Max Day is technically already accepting donations. It is officially scheduled for November 20th.
