(KNSI) — Gubernatorial candidate and House Speaker Lisa Demuth and her running mate Ryan Wilson are hitting the road today for a statewide, four-city media tour.
Demuth, a four-term Republican representative from Cold Spring, announced Wilson as her running mate on Monday. The two of them will be at the Paynesville Municipal Airport at 4:00 this afternoon. Other stops on the tour include Duluth International Airport at Monaco Air Duluth, which now operates as Vantage Aviation, at 9:00 a.m. From there, the candidates will head to Moorhead Municipal Airport at noon, then stop at Mankato Regional Airport at 2:30 p.m., before heading to central Minnesota.
A campaign press release says the two are making the trek to share their vision for a stronger, better Minnesota.
Among the others hoping to get the GOP nod are former state Senator Dr. Scott Jensen, who ran against Governor Tim Walz in 2022; former St. Cloud City Councilman Jeff Johnson; businessman Kendall Qualls; and Representative Kristin Robbins of Maple Grove.
The only DFL candidate on the list, Governor Walz, has not announced a running mate for 2026. Current Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan is running for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Senator Tina Smith, who announced her retirement earlier this year.
