(KNSI) – An equipment shed is a total loss following a fire Sunday morning in Holding Township.
According to a press release from the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, the 911 call came in around 10:44 from the 64-year-old property owner saying his shed was on fire. He explained to dispatchers he had started a fire in the woodstove in the 40′ x 110′ building and left the door open slightly to help get it going before heading to another part of the property to tend to his cattle. A short time later, he saw flames and smoke pouring out of the shed, which was already too far gone for him to put out on his own.
Fire departments from Bowlus and Holdingford responded, along with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and Mayo Ambulance. They were able to get the blaze under control, but the building and everything inside have been deemed a total loss.
No one was hurt.
