(KNSI) — House Speaker and four-term Republican Representative Lisa Demuth of Cold Spring announced Monday that she has chosen Ryan Wilson as her lieutenant governor running mate for the 2026 gubernatorial race.
According to a campaign press release, Wilson is an attorney and lifelong Minnesotan who lives in Maple Grove with his wife and four children. He founded a Twin Cities-based company that ran clinical trials for the medical device industry and has served on several non-profit youth boards.
In the release, Demuth says she is “thrilled to announce that Ryan Wilson will be joining our campaign. It’s time for some accountability in the highest level of our government, and Ryan Wilson is the one that will help me deliver that accountability.”
Demuth praised Wilson’s 2022 state auditor campaign, saying he “sounded the alarm about fraud spiraling out of control in our state” and ran “one of the most successful Republican campaigns for statewide office in years.”
Wilson said Demuth’s proven legislative leadership made it an easy decision to join the ticket.
“I am honored that Speaker Demuth has asked me to serve as her running mate,” said Wilson. “She’s the only candidate in this race who has stood up to [Governor Tim] Walz, stared him down, and won.”
The newly formed Demuth-Wilson ticket will embark on a statewide tour later this week to share its vision for Minnesota.
