(KNSI) – A 15-year-old boy is fighting for his life, and three others were hurt after a serious crash in St. Cloud on Tuesday night.
According to police, first responders were called around 7:30 to the intersection of County Road 75 and Traverse Road. Twenty-year-old Cooper Wente, of St. Cloud, was heading south on CR 75 with a green light when 22-year-old Anwar Kahin, also of St. Cloud, turned left in front of him while traveling north on CR 75.
The front-seat passenger in Kahin’s vehicle, a 15-year-old St. Cloud boy, was found unconscious and not breathing at the scene. Officers and St. Cloud Fire Department personnel started life-saving measures before he was rushed to CentraCare St. Cloud Hospital and later airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center.
A 19-year-old woman in Kahin’s back seat was pinned inside, and rescuers needed to cut the car apart to get her out. She was taken to CentraCare St. Cloud Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Both drivers were also taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Kahin was cited for failure to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic.
The crash remains under investigation.
