(KNSI) – The Zonta Christmas House will be stuffed to the brim with holiday spirit for the whole community to see on Friday, November 21st, and Saturday, the 22nd.
Zonta St. Cloud is returning the event to its roots by having the setup take place at an actual residence rather than the experiment last year at Traditional Floors and Design Center. Crowds will check out the handiwork of a dozen decorators, interior designers and local retailers, each of whom gets to adorn a room with boughs of holly and other yuletide cheer.
The decorators this year are “the Rustic Pick in Waite Park, Laney & Sy in Sauk Rapids and Just Peachy Boutique and Gift in Rice, several St. Cloud destinations including Traditional Floors & Designs, 29 Stitches Fabric and Crafts, Danique Beauty and the Beans, Green Thumb, Inc., Look of Lori, Mantra Salon and Spa, O’Brien’s Dry Goods, SOS Thrift Store, and Southway Greenhouse & Floral.”
They will be working on a home at 1408 Antler Creek Court in Sartell. Zonta Christmas House Committee member Debra Kellerman says the decorators have only one rule to guide them. “All we ask is make sure it looks like it exploded in Christmas. It’s Hallmark Plus.”
There will also be a Winter Marketplace set up with up to 15 vendors selling their wares. Kellerman notes it is a perfect outing for a girls’ night, as rifle season will still be going on in certain parts of the state.
The Christmas House is one of the Zonta Club’s premier fundraisers each year. Kellerman talks about the causes that will benefit. “Our mission is to try to stop violence against women. So, we are a service organization, meaning that we do fundraising, and then we give our monies that we make away.”
The beneficiaries can change over the years, except for a couple of staples. Allocations are always made to Anna Marie’s Alliance and Terebinth Refuge. Central Minnesota Sexual Assault Center has also been selected, among others.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online here, at six Coborn’s or Cash-Wise grocery stores, or at the door. Kellerman says Friday night tends to draw larger crowds. The event will run from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. For those who want to take their time or may struggle to navigate three levels of stairs, the Christmas House is open that Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
