(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Fire Department responded quickly to an apartment complex on the 1700 block of University Drive Southeast Thursday morning, keeping a blaze to just the kitchen area of a third-story unit.
The swift, coordinated attack on the flames was carried out at the same time that crews were evacuating all tenants from the building. Everyone got out safely and was accounted for.
The apartment affected by the fire was deemed uninhabitable, and the tenants had to be moved to temporary housing. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Office of the Fire Marshal.
