Waite Park Police Arrest Woman Suspected of DWI

(KNSI) – Waite Park Police were led on a chase Wednesday morning involving a suspected intoxicated driver.

Witnesses called into dispatch at about 9:25, saying a woman was twirling around and swearing at workers inside the McDonald’s at the corner of 2nd Avenue South and Highway 23. She then walked about to her vehicle and was preparing to leave just as officers got on scene.

The woman sped up and bolted away before pulling over in the outlot of the Crossroads Center shopping mall. The 39-year-old was evaluated by paramedics with Mayo Ambulance before being taken to CentraCare – St. Cloud Hospital. After release, she was booked into the Stearns County Jail.

Helping out the WPPD were deputies from the Stearns County Sheriff’s Department. The case is still under investigation.
