(KNSI) – St. Cloud State University is gearing up for four days of fun during Homecoming 2025 to bring together students, alumni, and the community for a weekend of Husky pride and tradition.
The festivities kick off early with Pre-Homecoming Campfires on Wednesday, October 22nd, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Husky Plaza, inviting all community members to start the celebration with school spirit.
One of the signature events is the Hunt for Huskies Downtown, taking place Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Participants can search downtown St. Cloud businesses for hidden stuffed husky mascots, with ten hidden each day for a total of 30 chances to win. Businesses hiding a husky will display a paw print window sticker, and finders can keep the stuffed animal while claiming free tickets to Saturday’s men’s hockey game via QR code.
Thursday, October 23rd, features the official Homecoming Kickoff from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Atwood Mall, followed by Atwood After Dark from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. for campus community members.
Friday’s schedule includes diverse offerings such as an afternoon tea at the Community Garden CafĂ© in the ISELF building, where attendees can learn about campus sustainability initiatives. The evening hosts multiple events, including an Alumni Reunion Reception for class years ending in 0 or 5, the #OurSCSU Gala requiring registration, and athletic competitions featuring volleyball against Northern State and men’s hockey versus Alaska Anchorage.
Saturday, October 25th, has something for everyone. The day begins with a Homecoming Breakfast at Green Mill downtown at 8:30 a.m., with the first 25 registrants receiving free hockey tickets.
Huskies Headquarters, the event’s central hub, will operate from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Husky Plaza, featuring carnival games, mini golf, inflatables, a bean bag tournament, Hammerschlagen, and live music from Muffleur Band. The first 100 guests will receive a free stuffed husky.
The afternoon continues with an outdoor concert featuring LA Gears performing ’90s hits from 1:00 to 5:00 at the former Press Bar lot on West St. Germain Street and Fifth Avenue South, offering free admission to all.
Athletic events include volleyball against Jamestown at 2:30 p.m. and the Homecoming men’s hockey game against Alaska Anchorage at 6:00 p.m.
The weekend concludes with a fireworks display following the hockey game, visible from anywhere on campus.
Additional Saturday activities include planetarium shows titled “Back to the Moon for Good,” a virtual Global Update session, and a 2v2 cornhole tournament.
Most events are open to the public, though some require registration. Central registration and check-in opens at 9:00 a.m. Saturday in Atwood Memorial Center.
