Paving Company With Local Offices Shutting Down

(KNSI) – Minnesota Paving and Materials has announced it is closing down in December, with 297 employees being let go. Regionally, the company has locations in Waite Park and St. Cloud.

On its website, the business notes it has been operating since 1861. It specialized in supplying asphalt and other paving materials, as well as construction. A WARN letter says the layoffs are permanent and will start on December 19th when all locations close.

Minnesota Paving and Materials was based in Waite Park at 402 28th Avenue South and 440 33rd Avenue South. In St. Cloud, they had an office at 402 33rd Street South.

Many of the jobs are union positions.
