(KNSI) — The Halloween season is where the Granite City Bizarre Bazaar concept really shines.

Not surprisingly, out of the roughly six markets each year, October’s has been moved to the largest venue used by organizers — the River’s Edge Convention Center in downtown St. Cloud. The market’s Becky Jackson gives a sneak peek at what new visitors should expect as they stroll among the stalls of the roughly 80 vendors on hand.

“You could kind of think of it as a mash-up of an artisan market, an oddities expo, and of course, because it’s October, we’re going to have costumes.”

It will be a scene that is part Etsy part “The Nightmare Before Christmas” as plenty of handmade costumes for all agest will be filling the racks. Jackson says it’s all about creating togetherness. “There’s no fee to enter. We want you, of course, to shop our vendors and meet some new local artists. And we want to support everybody. But most of all, we want to build community and have a good time.”

Jackson is doing her part to chip in. Stop by her table and you’ll see an arrangement of hand-sewn witch’s hats and quilts. Her daughters and her sister also take part, helping to make it a family affair.
