(KNSI) – St. John’s Prep boasts conference champions in both boys’ and girls’ cross country.

Athletes had to brave the rain and mud on Tuesday at Ney Park in Maple Lake, but persevered. On the girls’ side, Margaret Duffy is the Central Minnesota Conference champion. She crossed the line at 20:06.7 in first place. She had strong support from Brook Schmidt, Claudia Ruzanic, and Sofia Pauly, who all finished in the top 10.

For the boys, the best finisher was Will Vix at 17:06.6, good enough for second place. Ben Zahasky was third, Adrian Gallagher-Mancini was 8th, and Lane McIntyre was 9th overall.

The Central Minnesota Conference has eight teams in it. Next up are the section races. Both teams compete in Section 5A. They’ll be dashing across the Litchfield Golf Course on Thursday, October 23rd.
