(KNSI) – A popular business professor and former football player at St. John’s University has died.

Warren ‘Boz’ Bostrom was a member of the Class of 1995, where he was an Academic All-American in addition to his time on the gridiron. Bostrom graduated and went to work for one of the Big 4 accounting firms. His specialty was international tax and finance.

Bostrom returned to campus in 2004 when he joined the faculty at SJU and the College of St. Benedict. He earned tenure in 2011 and was promoted to full professor status in 2020. More importantly than the mark he made from the lecture podium, Bostrom was a huge booster for Johnnie and Bennie athletics.

He was a fixture at events on both campuses, particularly sports. Bostrom wrote three books, including a biography of his coach, John Gagliardi.

Bostrom developed a sizable social media following, using that platform to promote the universities that played such a huge role in his life. Officials at CSB and SJU expressed their condolences for Bostrom’s wife, Kacey, and his extended family.

Bostrom had recently been suffering from liver failure.
