(KNSI) – The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office responded to a pair of farm accidents over the weekend.
Both incidents occurred on Saturday. The first was at 6:35 a.m. at a property just north of Little Falls. Workers were loading a potato trailer using equipment similar to a conveyor belt. The trailer pulled away, and the conveyor shifted, catching the safety vest of a worker from Eagle Pass, Texas. The man lost his balance, and the conveyor wheel ran over his leg. He was taken to St. Gabriel’s Hospital.
In the afternoon, just after 3:15, a Fort Ripley woman had to be taken to the hospital after being trapped underneath a round bale. She was working with her husband, who was moving the bale using a skid steer attachment. The bale slipped off the spear and landed on the 38-year-old woman. She was briefly pinned underneath.
Mayo Ambulance took the woman to St. Joseph Hospital in Brainerd.
