(KNSI) — Tri-County Humane Society will host its final low cost public microchip clinic of the year on October 9th.
The clinic will run from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the shelter at 735 8th Street NE in St. Cloud. It’s walk-in style, so no appointments are needed. The cost is $10 plus tax per microchip, and cash and credit cards are accepted.
TCHS says microchips are the only permanent form of ID for pets, and that little chip can add up to a big sense of security. It’s about the size of a grain of rice and is injected under the animal’s skin. When scanned, it provides the owner’s contact information. Microchips often help TCHS reunite lost pets with their humans.
The procedure only takes a few minutes, and the pet parent’s information is registered with the microchip company at the time of the appointment.
Customers can have their pets microchipped by appointment year-round at Tri-County Humane Society for $20 plus tax.
