(KNSI) – Police are releasing the name of the victim after she was stabbed to death by a man in St. Cloud on Tuesday night.

According to police, they were called to the 1000 block of East St. Germain Street for a 911 hangup just before 11:30. They arrived to find 24-year-old Falus A Ali had been stabbed several times. Life-saving efforts were performed at the scene before she was rushed to CentraCare St. Cloud Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The 26-year-old suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Benton County jail, where he is awaiting formal charges. KNSI News doesn’t typically release the names of suspects until they’re formally charged.

Investigators say the two knew each other, and there is no threat to the public.

The investigation is still active.
