Lane Shifts Start September 22nd on Veterans Drive

(KNSI) – Traffic patterns on Veterans Drive/8th Street North will change next week due to sidewalk construction work in the area.

Starting Monday, September 22, 2025, eastbound traffic between 31st Avenue North and 26th Avenue North will be moved to the inside lane, with the outer eastbound lane temporarily closed to vehicles. Then, beginning Monday, September 29, 2025, westbound traffic from 26th Avenue North to 31st Avenue North will shift to the inside lane while the outer westbound lane remains closed.

City officials say the changes are expected to remain in effect through mid-October, weather permitting.

Those traveling through the construction zone are asked to allow extra time and watch out for work crews and equipment. The city recommends considering alternate routes when possible to minimize delays during peak travel times.
