(KNSI) – Stony Brook Farms near Foley is celebrating nearly a decade of fall fun with the opening of their ninth annual corn maze, featuring a mythical creatures theme that promises to enchant visitors of all ages.

The pattern brings an eclectic mix of legendary beings, including Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster, Bigfoot, a fire-breathing dragon, a minotaur, a unicorn, a garden gnome, and even Blinky, the three-eyed fish from The Simpsons, to life.

Manager Brad Chmielewski told KNSI News this year’s 64-acre maze offers a challenge for everyone. “We have three different mazes within that maze. So if you’re feeling like you want an easy one, we got a nice little short one. It’s about a 0.8 miles worth of pathways. We’ve got a medium one. That’s about six miles worth of pathways. And then our hard one, which is 8.7 miles of pathways.”

For those tackling the most difficult route, a scavenger hunt adds an extra layer of challenge. Visitors who find all 10 keywords will be entered into a weekly drawing for a $50 Visa gift card.

Modern technology helps ensure no one gets lost in the expansive maze. Upon admission, guests receive a sheet with a QR code that can be scanned to show their location and a map of the maze on their smartphone.

Chmielewski says come early for the best experience because the lines only get longer the closer they come to Halloween. “I would urge you to come out a little earlier in the season. Because it’s not as busy this time of year, you can enjoy things a little better. There won’t be any lines or anything like that.”

The corn maze is just one component of Stony Brook Farms’ Harvest Fun Days events, which feature over 30 activities running weekends through Halloween. Popular attractions include a giant corn pit, human hamster wheels, jump pads, culvert slides, and a new inflatable obstacle course coming in October.

Additional activities include pumpkin bowling, gravity wagon basketball, and access to a 25-acre pumpkin patch, though this year’s growing season has been delayed by about three weeks compared to last year.

Admission is $12 for all visitors, with children two and under free. Military families receive a $2 discount per ticket for up to five people with a valid military ID.

Stony Brook Farms is located at 1593 115th Avenue, just north of Highway 95.
