(KNSI) — A teenager from Savage will be OK, but the two suspects accused of robbing him at gunpoint are on the run.

According to authorities, around 2:20 Sunday afternoon, the 17-year-old pulled up to the 2000 block of Veterans Drive in St. Cloud to meet with a potential buyer for a computer he was selling. The two had connected through the online platform OfferUp. Shortly after the victim arrived in the parking lot, two men came up to his vehicle. One pointed a gun at the teen while the second reached in and stole the computer. Both suspects fled the scene. The victim was not physically injured during the robbery.

The suspects are described as black males of unknown age. One had a heavyset build with short dreadlocks, wearing a thick camouflage hoodie and gray shorts. The other suspect was wearing an all-black sweat suit.

The case remains under investigation.

Anyone with information about this armed robbery is encouraged to contact the St. Cloud Police Department at 320-251-1200. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Tri-County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-255-1301 or online by clicking here.

In response to this theft, police are reminding the public to take precautions when meeting strangers for online sales. They advise meeting in public spaces, preferably at a police department, sheriff’s office, or other government building with surveillance cameras, never go alone and if something feels wrong, leave.
