(KNSI) – On Sunday, Camp Ripley will host its annual open house, welcoming the public to experience the history of the Minnesota National Guard, military partnerships, and continuing efforts for modernization at the state’s largest military installation.

This year’s open house will focus on modernization, and show off ongoing efforts to evolve and enhance readiness, infrastructure, and training capabilities. Officials say Camp Ripley is always investing in new technologies and facilities to better support the Minnesota National Guard and its mission capabilities.

Visitors to the open house will be able to explore and interact with exhibits, check out military vehicle and equipment displays, meet service members, participate in family friendly activities and discover how ongoing efforts to modernize the facility are shaping the future of the Minnesota National Guard.

The event is September 14th and runs from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Camp Ripley is located at 15000 Highway 115 in Little Falls.

“This event is a powerful way for us to open our gates and build meaningful connections with our local community,” said Army 1st Lt. Colton Rossow, public affairs officer for Camp Ripley. “Camp Ripley has served Minnesota for nearly a century, and this open house is a celebration of that shared history—of the people, the land, and the enduring relationship between our military and the citizens we serve.”

“We are embracing the future of training, technology, and cooperation. Our ability to optimally function depends on our commitment to modernization and our strong connection with the communities we serve,” Rossow added.

Camp Ripley was established in 1931 as a 53,000-acre regional training site that supports military units from across the country, partner nation militaries, law enforcement agencies, first responders, environmental organizations, and others. The installation’s location and facilities have made it one of the top places in the Upper Midwest for integrated training and response planning.
