(KNSI) – Cold Spring officials have asked the lead architect to tweak its proposals for the city hall remodel.
Administrator Kris Dockendorf says the two most popular options have been picked apart by the building committee and city council, without one truly winning out. “They brought it to city council. City council looked over it, the architects presented it, and there wasn’t one option that everybody liked.”
She provides an example of a change the council wants to see before finalizing the schematic design. “One of them was just the location of the administration offices. They were too far back in the building, and they want to bring them more forward.”
Renovations to the building would begin next year. It will be done in two phases to allow the library to stay in the near term. Eventually, like the fire department, that would be moved to its own standalone site. All that would be left is city staff and the police department.
