(KNSI) – The Sartell-St. Stephen Education Foundation is throwing its annual Toast to Autumn fundraiser next month, with money raised going to learning projects in the school district.
The event is Thursday, October 9th, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Blackberry Ridge in Sartell. The night will have socializing, wine and beer tasting, heavy appetizers, and a silent auction.
Tickets cost $25 per person, plus a $3.52 processing fee, and you can buy them by clicking here.
SSEF has given money to the Sartell High School DECA chapter, paying for state competition fees and travel costs. DECA gives high school kids real-world experience in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management.
First graders just finished studying different places around the world, making dioramas of their favorite spots using supplies that SSEF paid for. The hands-on project let kids show off what they learned about seven different habitats by building detailed miniature worlds.
The foundation has also helped make classrooms more comfortable. Fourth-grade teachers got resources to set up calming corners in their rooms, giving students special spots where they can chill out and manage stress.
Middle school math has gotten some creative upgrades thanks to foundation support. Seventh grade math students had a “GLOW Day”. The event turned the regular classroom into an interactive learning space with games like “Match the Fraction/Decimal/Percent Tic Tac Toe,” cup stacking challenges, and modified Jenga with math problems.
The foundation says that community support through events like Toast to Autumn makes different educational improvements possible across all grade levels.
