(KNSI) – The 13th Annual Get Youth Outdoors Day is offering a hands-on way to introduce young people to the sport of hunting and shooting.
The Union Sportsmen’s Alliance organizes the event in coordination with the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers & Allied Workers as part of their Work Boots on the Ground conservation program.
The fun, family-friendly event will take place on Sunday, September 7th, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Wild Marsh Sporting Clays Shooting Facility, located at 13481 County Road 3 in Clear Lake. Youth ages nine to 17 and their families can learn to shoot sporting clays, .22 caliber rifles, archery, and other outdoor pursuits, all under the supervision of trained volunteers.
Organizers emphasize that engaging the next generation is crucial for preserving outdoor heritage and supporting wildlife management programs.
Registration is free. For more information about the event, contact USA Conservation Manager Cody Campbell at 615-928-2243 or codyc@unionsportsmen.org or USA Conservation Coordinator Maggie Sager at 512-417-2528 or maggies@unionsportsmen.org.
