(KNSI) – The Cold Spring City Council will vote on a contract with Donlar Construction at Wednesday’s meeting for renovations at city hall.
The total cost of the project would be no more than $4 million. Donlar will act as a construction manager at risk, responsible for ensuring the project comes in at or below that figure. Design for the renovations would be completed by November.
The work will be done in stages so that the library can remain in the building for the near future. Eventually, only the police department and city staff would remain.
Cold Spring has a good working relationship with Donlar Construction. The firm was in charge of the new fire hall, which is nearing completion. An open house is scheduled for Saturday, October 11th. The council will vote to approve shutting down Main Street near the hall on that day from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. for the event.
Anticipation for the open house is high, and the city is planning on a big party. The council will vote on whether to approve spending $3,000 to advertise the event and send out the needed invitations. They plan on providing refreshments to those who attend.
The council meeting is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
