(KNSI) – St. Cloud Technical & Community College has created a new position focused on making the campus welcoming for everyone.
Alberto Ramos has been named the first Vice President of Community, Culture, and Institutional Climate. Most recently, he served as Director of a diversity center at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire, where he led campus-wide efforts to support all students. Before that, he worked at several Minnesota State colleges and universities.
He has two degrees from St. Cloud State University, making his return to the area personally meaningful. “I am thrilled to be joining the SCTCC community and returning to a community that has meant so much to me,” Ramos said.
According to a press release, Ramos brings extensive experience in supporting students from all backgrounds. He will be in charge of helping students from different backgrounds succeed and feel they belong at SCTCC. His tasks will include developing programs and policies to help a diverse student population succeed.
