(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Transportation is hosting two public meetings on Wednesday, August 27th, to discuss major improvements planned for Highway 10 in southeast St. Cloud and Haven Township.
The open houses will focus on an engineering study aimed at improving safety and managing traffic along the busy corridor. MnDOT officials will present three designs for key intersections and gather the public’s two cents. The two areas being targeted for improvement are at Highway 10 and 15th Avenue Southeast, and Highway 10 and 12th Street Southeast.
The options being discussed are to keep the current setup with minor safety upgrades, build a bridge over Highway 10, or construct a full interchange with bridge and on-and-off ramps.
MnDOT is also looking to make changes in Haven Township near Teeders Industrial Park and around County Road 3.
The first meeting is from noon to 2:00 p.m. at Harvester Square on East St. Germain Street in St. Cloud. The second is scheduled for 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Haven Town Hall on 45th Avenue Southeast. Both sessions will cover identical information, and there’s no formal presentation, so that people can drop in anytime during those hours. Project team members will be at both meetings to answer questions and hear feedback.
The Minnesota Legislature has provided funding to redesign the intersections.
