One 19-year-old Dead, Another Critically Injured in Saturday Morning Meeker County Crash

(KNSI) – A young man is dead and another is fighting for his life after a car crash early Saturday morning in Meeker County.

First responders were called at 3:05 on August 24th to the intersection of County Road 6 and 746th Avenue in Collinwood Township. Investigators say the driver, Elijah Miller from Cokato, was headed westbound on County Road 6 when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to leave the road. The car struck a telephone pole on the passenger side, where Nolan Henke of Dassel was sitting. The crash trapped both 19-year-olds inside.

According to the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, Henke was pronounced dead at the scene. Miller was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center in critical condition.

The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. No additional details have been released at this time.
