(KNSI) – The Stearns County Parks Department says it is changing the date for shutting off access to a favorite swimming spot in Quarry Park and Nature Preserve.
Swim Quarry Two, also known as Melrose Deep Seven, will be closed starting September 8th. The closure is to allow the construction of a new viewing area, the widening of the trails, and the building of a retaining wall to slow erosion in the area.
Access to Swim Quarry 11, better known as the family swim spot due to its sandy beach and shallower depth, will remain open.
The Parks Department had set the closure for September 2nd.
