Co-owner Kenny Dumpprope and his wife Amber told KNSI News they’ve been working toward this dream for over five years, “My wife and I have always wanted to own our own business. I always wanted to work for myself, too. I’m a really hard worker, Amber’s a really hard worker, and we just wanted to work as hard as we can and build something together.”

Kenny calls their menu “higher-end pub” food that’s family-oriented. “This is going to be a place that everyone can come, no matter the age group. You can be older. You can be super young. We have something for everybody here. The flavors of our dishes are designed in a way that it attracts a wide range of people.”

The menu features handcrafted dishes made with fresh ingredients such as Braveheart Angus Beef, and Red Dragon Cheese, which they use to make burgers, chicken wraps, paninis, salads and more.

The foundation of Mr. D’s rests on a team with deep culinary credentials. Amber used to work with Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef Mike Pepin, who has been tapped to run the kitchen and brings over 30 years of restaurant experience. Sous-chef Derek Thielen rounds out the core team.

What sets Mr. D’s apart is that the restaurant features arcade games suitable for children, teenagers, and adults.

The restaurant’s name comes from the first letter in the family surname, Dumpprope, with Amber suggesting “Mr. D’s” as the perfect moniker for their venture.

Mr. D’s is located at 1001 2nd Street South in Sartell.
