(KNSI) – A homeless man has been convicted of stabbing a man to death in St. Cloud.

Marquis Jacob Fisher was found guilty by a jury of unintentional second-degree murder and second-degree assault. He was acquitted on a charge of second-degree murder with intent.

Fisher’s sentencing date is October 30th. The 25-year-old could end up spending more than 40 years in prison.

He killed 36-year-old Shane Michael Brunner following a fight on March 13th. Brunner died the next day at CentraCare – St. Cloud Hospital from wounds to his lower back and buttocks. Investigators say Fisher and Brunner had been together at the house on the 600 block of 12th Avenue North all day before they started fighting. Court records show Fisher used a “buck knife” to attack Brunner.
