(KNSI) — The Initiative Foundation and its Partner Funds awarded 147 grants totaling more than $1.4 million during the second quarter of 2025.
The foundation also awarded 48 grants, including the food shelf grants, for a total of more than $230,000. These second-quarter grants supported Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Cloud – Strengthening Service received $5,000 for enhancing volunteer engagement. Central Minnesota Jobs and Training Services, Inc. – Strategic Implementation was awarded $15,000 to support the strategic planning process. Central Minnesota Jobs and Training Services, Inc. – Enhancing Budget Efficiency received $5,000 to develop and implement budget templates. Sherburne County’s Planning & Zoning got $10,000 to support the County Planning & Zoning Ordinance Rewrite.
Through a partnership with an anonymous funder, the Initiative Foundation awarded $100,000 to 18 rural food shelves across Central Minnesota. Locally, Kimball Area Food Shelf received $6,000.
