Deadline Tuesday to File for Vacant St. Cloud School Board Seat

(KNSI) – It is the last chance for candidates to file for the vacant seat on District 742’s School Board.

Candidates have until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12th, to complete an Affidavit of Candidacy at the St. Cloud Area School District Administration Office or submit a notarized form to the office at 1201 2nd Street South in Waite Park. Filing requires either a $2.00 fee or a petition with 500 signatures.

The seat became vacant when Bruce Hentges resigned in February due to health concerns. Former board member Al Dahlgren was appointed to serve temporarily until a special election on November 4th. The elected candidate will serve until January 2029.
