(KNSI) – Construction on Lincoln Avenue Southeast has progressed to the point where crews can shift north in the work area.
Beginning Monday, the road is closed to all traffic between Highway 23 and 4th Street. For those trying to get to local businesses, officials say to access Lincoln Avenue from 7th Street Southeast. For the last several weeks, it was south towards 7th that was closed, while north of 4th was open.
Detours are posted to help avoid the construction entirely. For drivers who must use Lincoln, officials are reminding them that, even where it is now open again, it remains an active construction zone. The road surface may be uneven or rough in places. They say to take it slow and be cautious.
The project won’t be finished until late October, assuming weather cooperates.
