(KNSI) – Drivers traveling on Highway 10 east of St. Cloud should prepare for several months of construction-related delays as Sherburne County begins a major safety improvement project near New Haven.
Starting this week, single-lane closures are in effect along the highway between 32nd Street SE and 52nd Street SE. Work will continue in the area through October 10th. Drivers should expect reduced speeds through the work zone.
Construction crews will completely realign the intersections at Highway 10 and County Road 65, as well as Highway 10 and County Road 7, using a new J-turn design. The project also includes building a new railroad crossing and updating pedestrian access and approaches throughout the area.
The most significant change for travelers will be the complete closure of Highway 10 access to and from Sherburne County Road 65 (42nd Street SE). A detour route has been established using County Road 8 SE, County Road 16 (57th Street SE), County Road 7 (45th Avenue SE), and County Road 60 (60th Street SE).
