(KNSI) – A man arrested on child pornography charges after a citizen-run sting operation allegedly caught him talking to what he thought was a 13-year-old girl on a dating app makes his first court appearance on Monday.
Jason Alan Dalbec was charged in Wright County District Court last week with 10 counts of possessing child pornography. According to the criminal complaint, photos seized from the 47-year-old’s electronic devices showed girls who appear no older than 13 and as young as five.
Members of Bikers Against Predators traveled to Cokato on July 19th, confronted Dalbec at his home and contacted the Sheriff’s Office. The Indiana-based nonprofit says its mission is to take “action against online child predators and have them face justice.”
Members of the group used the app Meet4u to coax Dalbec into reaching out.
