(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Rox have begun selling tickets for the 2025 Northwoods League postseason.
The club has known for weeks it was in after winning the first half title in the Great Plains West division. The Rox had the league’s best record through 33 games, going 25-8. St. Cloud is also in front in the Great Plains West in the second half, but only by a half-game as of Tuesday morning. The winner of each half advances to the first round of the playoffs.
The playoffs begin on Sunday, August 10th. The first round is best-of-three. The top seed gets home-field advantage by having the second and third game (if necessary) at their digs. That means the Rox will likely have their first playoff game on the 11th.
If the Rox take both the first and second half crowns, then the division team with the best overall winning percentage would get the nod. That would likely be the Badlands Big Sticks. Badlands and Mankato are challenging St. Cloud in the second half for the division, giving the Moondogs a path to steal that spot.
If the Rox were to advance out of the first round, it is one-and-done the rest of the way. They would play the winner of the Great Plains East series and then the team advancing from the Great Lakes bracket in the championship.
