(KNSI) — Several Minnesota breweries earned some hardware at the 2025 U.S. Open Beer Championships in Ohio.
The event celebrates brewing excellence and saw over 8,000 beers submitted from breweries across the nation, from Maui to Maine, representing more than 170 categories and subcategories.
Beaver Island Brewing Company in St. Cloud won gold in the Smoked Beer category for Smoke On The Porter. Smoked beer gets its flavor from malted barley that’s dried over an open flame and is also known as Rauchbier.
Annandale’s Spilled Grain Brewhouse took gold in the Märzen/Oktoberfest category for its Oktoberfest brew.
Lupulin Brewing Company in Big Lake took home three awards. They won bronze for Resin Rapture in the Imperial Red Ale category and for Barrel God Cuvée – 2025 Blend in the Barrel-Aged Strong/Porter Extreme category for beverages with an ABV of 12.5% or higher. Lupulin won silver in the Barrel-Aged German Lager category for BA Doppelbock 2024.
Inver Grove Brewing Company, Lakeville Brewing Company, and Venn Brewing Company also brought home medals.
