(KNSI) – The Sauk Rapids City Council will meet Monday at 4:00 p.m. for a special session to approve paving of a youth sports parking lot.
The only item on the agenda is to okay laying down new blacktop at the Mayhew Creek Baseball Complex. It is filed under the consent agenda and should be wrapped up in just a few minutes. The $181,000 project was already scheduled to begin this week.
Administrator Ross Olson says the new request was sparked by conversations between the project manager and the head of the city’s public works department. Depending on if the council decides to go with some additional landscaping and center islands, it could free up materials to make the overall lot bigger, adding spots for vehicles. That decision must be made by Monday, before crews begin the work in earnest.
Mayor Jason Ellering will attend the meeting remotely via the phone.
