(KNSI) – Candidates interested in filling a vacant seat on District 742’s School Board can start filing on July 29th and have until August 12th to submit their paperwork.

To file, candidates can complete an Affidavit of Candidacy at the St. Cloud Area School District Administration Office or submit a notarized form to the DOA office at 1201 2nd Street South in Waite Park. Filing requires either a $2.00 fee or a petition with 500 signatures.
The seat became vacant when Bruce Hentges resigned in February due to health concerns. Former board member Al Dahlgren was appointed to serve temporarily until a special election on November 4th. The elected candidate will serve until January 2029.
