(KNSI) — One person is dead, and the power was out in parts of Morrison County after a crash Friday afternoon.
The sheriff’s office says it got a call at about 12:25 for a two-vehicle accident in Two Rivers Township. A 2010 Toyota Prius was heading west on 30th Street when it collided with a 2016 Ford F-450 truck. Both vehicles wound up rolling and on their roof.
The Bowlus Fire Department had to cut open the Prius to reach the driver, identified as 25-year-old Juan Rodriguez from Tampa, Florida. Lifesaving measures were taken, but Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene. There were multiple people inside the F-450. They were all treated by paramedics.
One of the vehicles sheared off a utility pole, and Minnesota Power had to come out and make emergency repairs to start service back up. The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office says after an investigation, it has determined Rodriguez failed to obey a stop sign, which led to the crash.
