(KNSI) — Area lakes and streams are still feeling the effects of the big rainstorms from the beginning of the month.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says many continue to rise and will only crest after a prolonged stretch of dry weather. A no wake warning is in effect for Two Rivers Lake of Holdingford, Rice Lake and North Brown’s Lake of Eden Lake Township, Big Lake in Munson Township, the entire Sauk River chain of lakes, Clearwater Lake and Grass Lake in Lynden Township, and Lake Augusta and Lake Caroline in Fairhaven Township. Long and Crooked Lakes are no longer under a no wake warning.
A no wake warning means boaters should be careful not to ramp up waves within 300 feet of the shoreline. Sheriff’s officials say when water levels are high, it threatens to damage shoreline and private and public property at the edge of the lakes.
