Metro Bus Plans for West Transit Center Rolling Along

(KNSI) – Metro Bus is rolling forward with construction plans for the Western Transit Center at the intersection of 2nd Avenue South and Sundial Drive in Waite Park.

The organization’s board of commissioners officially approved schematic designs for the site on May 20th. Preliminary construction activity will be noticed by commuters and nearby residents in the coming months at the site.

The hope is to open the building by late 2026, at the same time the Metro Bus Forward service changes go into effect. New route alignments will be designed using the location as a hub. Metro Bus says to expect public information sessions and outreach events soon to help educate people on the need for the Western Transit Center.
