(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Police Department is putting the finishing touches on plans for National Night Out as they prepare to visit neighborhood celebrations across the city.
Law enforcement and firefighters want to stop at every neighborhood and community celebration, so organizers should register their gatherings online to ensure they’re included on the route.
National Night Out is about bringing neighbors together with public safety officials, with the hope that meeting each other in person will create a bond of trust that leads to people looking out for one another and attempting to prevent crime by sharing any suspicious activity they may notice. Activities run the gamut from grilling to block parties, ice cream socials, kids’ games, or a combination of all of the above.
KNSI will host its final “Know Your Neighbor” cookout and town hall at 1010 Park in southeast St. Cloud, joining what’s typically over 50 gatherings citywide each year.
