(KNSI) – The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office is warning that several area lakes are seeing a rapid rise in water levels.
Boaters on Clearwater Lake, Grass Lake, Lake Augusta, and Lake Caroline are already under a “No Wake” restriction. The limits are in place when operating within 300 feet of shore.
Everyone is encouraged to be aware of rapidly changing conditions over the coming weeks. Officials say the Horseshoe Chain of Lakes, North Browns Lake, Koronis Lake, Rice Lake, and Two Rivers Lake are notorious for experiencing a surge in water levels after heavy rainfall.
Meeker County warned last week it was dealing with similar issues.
